Our Innkeeper Kathy Wade

I was raised in the shadow of Pikes Peak and am a true native of the area. I’ve been lucky enough to travel to many places in the world, and no venue I’ve visited compares to living in Colorado year round.
Opening Outlook Lodge is another journey to me. I look forward to seeing this historic lodge once again serving the needs of travelers and guests by hosting small catered parties, special weekend seminars, scrapbooking parties, hiking or birding groups and just relaxing with family and friends in the clear mountain air.
Cooking is one of my joys. My preference is preparing unique fare made of healthy and organic ingredients. I figure if you can cook three meals a day for hungry teenagers and calving and haying crews you can create savory breakfasts. I look forward to the challenges also of special dietary needs. Vegan? No problem. Gluten free? Easily done! Our granola is homemade and always available for early risers with fruit, yogurt, soy and cow’s milk. Baking scones, coffeecakes, fruit and nut breads is one of my favorite activities. Bring me a new recipe to try out. I’m up for it!
Every detail of the lodge has been carefully restored and, in some cases, so improved that I am proud to share it. My family of entrepeneurs lived the motto of customer service as our first credo.
Most of all, there’s something special about sleeping in the Rockies with fresh breezes and towering pines that cannot be surpassed. Come visit us and see for yourself!
I hope to see you soon.
Kathy
